 The Coaches at AbsoluteTennisBristol.com

Kerris Wagstaff, Director of Absolute Tennis, Bristol

I am a fully qualified LTA Accredited and Cardio tennis coach with over 30 years experience and sufficient DBS, Safeguarding and First Aid Qualifications.  I also obtain a Sport and Human Movement Degree and am a fully Qualified Physical Education Teacher.
As a junior, I played in numerous tournaments around the country whilst also competing for my successful school team, club, county, region and was often accepted into the Junior Nationals of Great Britain.  To this day, I still play competitive tennis at Club and County levels where for the second year in a row we have won the Avon Summer League and have gained promotion into Division 2 for the Summer County Championships of Great Britain.

Whilst studying for my degree I worked as a Tennis Professional at the David Lloyd Centres in Bristol and Cardiff on a part-time basis whilst also helping out at my childhood Tennis Club, Bristol Central (BCTC).  During the summer, I worked at and built up strong links with an American Summer Camp which is ranked in the Top 8 American Tennis Camps.  I first worked there as a Tennis Coach in 1995 and have returned many times (being promoted to Head Councellor). My links to the Summer Camp mean that I have been able to send many pupils from the tennis clubs and schools where I have coached and worked, allowing them to share some fantastic experiences.  I also have many friends who have gone on to coach and run large Country Clubs all around the States enabling us to share ideas on how best to coach tennis to all ages and abilities.

For 11 years, whilst getting married and having children, I worked on a part-time basis at a Bristol Secondary School as a PE Teacher and have also run a very successful Junior and Adult Coaching Programme at Bristol Central Tennis Club where I now employ several great, loveable coaches who I think the world of.

I am now employed by Clifton College to deliver tennis lesson to the pupils as well as becoming the Director of Absolute Tennis, Bristol.  I hope that I can make Beggar Bush a popular and social environment where children and adults can come and hang out and learn more about tennis in a fun and enjoyable way. This is a brand new and exciting adventure for me and am very much looking forward to the challenge. I am extremely open to ideas from people on what they would like to see or, what they do not think is working. Please feel free to contact me to pass on any ideas you would like to put across.
